This is a new Public Works facility for the City of Rochester. In this part of the new facility they will be doing the maintenance on all of their equipment including dump truck, road graders, buses, fire trucks and other heavy equipment. One of the challenges included in this project was the hundreds of feet of cast in place trench drains and number of pits in the maintenance area. The integral hardener was used in the floors and walls of the pits also.

 

 

Hard-Cem was the product used. They knew they wanted a concrete hardener in this area and originally were looking at a shake on hardener but decided to go with Hard-Cem.  This product was chosen for its ease of installation as well as taking away the potential dosage issues that are associated with a shake on hardener. They would also get a full depth or integral hardener verses a surface hardener.
